The Willow Play Cafe in Toronto’s Junction neighbourhood transforms a former dive bar into a walnut‑panelled “third place” where adults can relax while their children play within sight. Designed by Denizens of Design with DS Studio, the space reads as a considered cafe first and play is embedded into the architecture rather than treated as an add‑on. Inspired by a willow tree, the children’s zone features green foam steps leading to a mezzanine hideout, a red slide, interactive peg walls and cog boards, plus integrated seating and arched niches for workshops and parties, creating a quietly magical, family‑friendly interior.
